Grandma's Best Work

I love this pic because it shows off some of Grandma's best work: one of the cute sock monkeys she made the kids and the latest Summer haircut she gave Cole. One cute pair!

My Water Babies

I love summer.  I am so thankful for our pool.  This summer, Syd's been swimming all by herself, and it's been awesome.  She's having so much fun and getting really great exercise.  The other day, after a fun-filled morning of swimming, she had two helpings for lunch, and then blew my mind by eating two entire sandwiches for snack!  Incredible.  Cole's been doing great too.  He's getting the hang of the puddle jumpers and can make his way around the pool by kicking his legs.  Anyway, here are some fun pics of my water babies.

Buh-Bye Tree!

Last night, we had a huge storm come through.  The weatherman said there'd be 80-90 mph winds and that "you will lose power."  Well, for once, we did not lose power!  But - we may have had the winds!  We lost most of the rest of the big tree in the back yard (we lost part of it last year).  Thankfully, it did not land on the playset, fence, or septic field!

Busted!

This little lady not only jumped the fence and then walked all the way across the yard, but then helped herself to our lillies!  AS IF!  Sydney immediately asked if she could pet her, and we said, "YES!"  Syd opened the door, and she was gone!  Mission accomplished.

Happy Father's Day?

Sydney thoughtfully prepared the following card for her dad for Father's day:

"I love you.  You love meat."

I think that pretty much covers it.  She's a smart kid.

Owning the Carnival

Technically, we did go to the Herndon Festival, but I wouldn't give us an A on the carnival.  However, yesterday, we went to the Taste of Reston.  And - we OWNED the carnival.  We went on the Ferris wheel, the Willie the whale ride, the swings, and the 4 x 4s.  The kids didn't go to bed until after 9:00 pm!  Try not to be jealous of our rock star lifestyle.
